The Burnout Brain
Burnout is a state of chronic physical and emotional exhaustion that results from prolonged and excessive stress, particularly related to one's work or professional life. While burnout primarily affects an individual's psychological well-being, it can also have physical and neurological implications. Several areas of the brain can be impacted by burnout, including the following: Basal Ganglia, Hypothalamus, Prefrontal Cortex, Amygdala, and the Hippocampus.
